Duties & Responsibilities
– Manage security aspects of an event from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectives – Come up with suggestions to enhance the event’s success – ensure adherence to budget – Oversee personnel (Security officers, tactical response team etc ) – Coordinate all operations – Approve all aspects before the day of the event – Ensure event is completed smoothly and step up to resolve any problems that might occur – Analyze the event’s success and prepare reports – Adhere to the Thorburn Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) Management System’s Policies & Procedures as applicable to this position. – Any reasonable action requested by management.
Skills and Competencies
– Effectively and efficiently work under tight deadlines – Manage multiple priorities utilizing strong time management and project tracking skills – Exhibit keen attention to detail, high energy level, and excellent judgment – Work collaboratively with diverse, multi-location teams in a fast-paced environment – Ability to manage a number of projects and initiatives simultaneously – Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise – Should have some working knowledge of logistics – Financial understanding – Excellent computer knowledge – Must have fire arm competency for business use
Qualifications
– Proven experience as security manager – Skilled in project management an advantage – Computer savvy; proficient in MS Office – Outstanding communication and negotiation ability – Excellent organizational skills – A knack for problem-solving – Customer-service orientation – A team player with leadership skills – proven experience deploying tactical teams an advantage – SAMTRAC qualification – PSIRA Grade A Qualified – SA Drivers Licence – Fire arm competency for business use advantageous
