Grain Field Chickens, a subsidiary of VKB Agriculture (PTY)Ltd, is a dynamic role player in the integrated broiler industry with an abattoir in Reitz in the North Eastern Free State. We offer you the opportunity to establish yourself within a professional, corporate environment in the countryside.
Job Description:
The incumbent will be responsible for all upkeep and repair duties including identifying the need for repairs and responding to maintenance requests. This will also include ensuring all the lights in the plant and offices are in working order.
Requirements:
Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent.
N2 Electrical Qualification.
A minimum of 2 years’ working experience in a similar role.
Solid experience in electrical systems.
Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment.
A willingness to work overtime, incl. shifts and on weekends when required.
Duties and responsibility
Assist with breakdowns on all electrical equipment.
Assist with electrical installations on the entire site as per SANS 10142.
Ensure all tools and equipment are available when attending to breakdowns.
Ability to communicate with maintenance managers, electricians and production staff and give effective feedback.
Apply and enforce ISO / HACCP / Occupational Health and Safety / 20 Keys in the workplace (must be aware of all the safety requirements).
Conduct inspections on lights on a daily basis as well as do repairs on them.
Complete paperwork (check sheets, job cards etc.) and ensure these are handed in before end of shift.
Ensuring lights on the entire site are always working and are in a clean condition.
Before any work is performed, perform a risk assessment and lock-out procedure.
Must be knowledgeable about all other safety requirements.
Perform any other duties as may be required by management.
